Tom grew up surrounded by his family’s Irish music roots, listening to The Pogues, Christy Moore, and The Dubliners. However, his drumming style is deeply influenced by progressive and classic rock, with inspirations from Phil Collins’ work with Genesis, as well as bands like Rush, King Crimson, and Yes.
Phil Collins’ drumming sparked Tom’s interest in a versatile approach to playing, further fueled by the blues influences of Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton, BB King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, and others.
Since the age of 15, Tom has played professionally in bands across the globe, covering genres such as Pop, Jazz, Rock, Britpop, Folk, and Blues.
In addition to being a drummer, Tom is also a solo artist and multi-instrumentalist. He writes his own lyrics and music, and produces, mixes, and masters his records under the stage name Tom Brooker.
Tom plays a mix of Sonor and Yamaha drums, Zildjian cymbals, Evans drumheads, and uses Pro-Mark drumsticks.
